Center in the Park Celebrates its 9th Annual “Music from the Heart”
Jazz Concert for Adults of All Ages – April 22nd
On Saturday, April 22, 2017, the Center in the Park (CIP), located at 5818 Germantown Av. in Germantown’s historic Vernon Park, will present its Ninth Annual Music from the Heart Jazz Concert at 3 PM in the Center’s Auditorium. Ample off street parking is located on the Center’s lot at Rittenhouse and McCallum Sts.
Music from the Heart is Center in the Park’s signature annual event to raise funds for the Center’s operations and programs and services for older adults (55+). Gateway Health has joined CIP in presenting the jazz concert. Talent for the concert was organized by well-known producer Kim Tucker. Performers include Kendra Butler-Waters as the opener and vocalist Jeannie Brooks, who will headline.
Since its humble beginnings in 1968 as the Center for Older Adults Northwest, housed in the first floor of
the Germantown Women’s Y, CIP has blossomed into the nationally-accredited senior community center. The Center enjoys a national reputation as a leader in collaborative community-based research, with its participation adding to the body of knowledge about positive, healthy aging. With that knowledge, CIP is enhancing its capacity to deliver evidence-based health and wellness programs to meet the needs of older adult participants and improve the wellbeing of thousands of older adults annually.
